Record Store Day was conceived in 2007 at a gathering of independent record store owners and employees as a way to celebrate and spread the word about the unique culture surrounding nearly 1400 independently-owned record stores in the US and thousands of similar stores internationally. The first Record Store Day took place on April 19, 2008. Today, Record Store Day is celebrated at independently-owned brick-and-mortar record stores around the world.
Record Store Day event occurs in April of each year and is the event that everybody waits for. This is the one that people start lining up at hours before opening, so that they can get the limited edition LP.
The Friday after Thanksgiving, the official start of the Christmas shopping season, aka shopping mayhem! RSD Black Friday is not Record Store Day II, the Black Friday list tends to be smaller and the titles stay in print longer so that they can be had through the Christmas shopping season.
About a month before the April RSD event and Black Friday, RSD drops the list of what is going to be available for the event. When the lists drops you will find it here below for your review, see what you want and let us know and we will endeavor to get in for you.
